Continue reading »]]> Android Ice Cream Sandwich is currently the latest version of Android. It offers a variety of new features. I am going to list a few features on Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

One feature that I think is very useful. I don’t think this feature was added in any previous versions of Android. This feature is the ability to view your data usage. I believe this feature is in the settings. So go to settings, then data usage. From here, you can set your data limit. I think this is a very good feature because if you have a limited amount of data, this is a great way to keep track of your data usage.

Another feature I think is a good one is the face unlock. Basically with this feature, you don’t need to enter a password to unlock your device. You show your face and your phone unlocks. I don’t think all phones that have Android Ice Cream Sandwich have this feature. I have seen the Galaxy Nexus with this feature.

The Galaxy Nexus has 32 GB of internal storage. The iPhone 4S comes in 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB.

The iPhone 4S runs iOS while the Galaxy Nexus runs Android. The iPhone 4S has an 8 mp camera, while the Galaxy Nexus offers a 5 mp camera. Both devices have a front facing camera.

The iPhone 4S has a 3.5″ screen. The Galaxy Nexus has a 4.65″ screen.

The Firefox web browser offers many features. I like the user interface on the Firefox web browser for Android. I think you can even get addons on Firefox for Android.

Continue reading »]]> Flipboard is an app where you can sync some content you want to view to Flipboard. You can add some of your accounts to Flipboard such as Twitter, Facebook, and more. I think Flipboard is a useful app because some of the content you want to view is in one place. I like the user interface. Flipboard is currently available on iOS in the App Store. Flipboard is currently a free app.

Some of the features is adding multiple videos together, adding music and more. AndroMedia is one of my favourite video editor for Android. AndroMedia is available for Android and you can download it in the Android Market. AndroMedia is currently a free app.

Continue reading »]]> You can customize your lockscreen in many ways. One of my favourite ways is using an app called WidgetLocker. You can download WidgetLocker in the Android Market. It is currently a paid app.

So first open up WidgetLocker. You should now see a lockscreen. You can customize your lockscreen by adding widgets, changing the wallpaper, etc. To add a custom slider, hold down on your screen and click custom slider. Under theme, you can choose what theme you want your slider to be. After you have selected your slider, there are more options for your slider. Slide the slider and you should see more options to customize your slider. After you are done customizing your slider, click done. To add a widget on your lockscreen, hold down on your screen and click widgets. You can now choose what widget you want on your lockscreen. There are several options in the settings. You can go to the settings by clicking the menu button and settings.

Continue reading »]]> It turns out that Apple has moved up two spots in the phone manufacturer rankings. LG and ZTE dropped down a rank. Currently, Nokia and Samsung are taking the top two slots. Apple is now currently the third largest phone manufacturer. Numbers from IDC reports that Apple has shipped 37 million units in Q4 2011. The smartphone market has grown 11.1% in 2011, it’s down from 18.7% growth numbers from 2010.

Setting a passcode

To do this, first go to settings, then general, then passcode lock. Now click turn passcode on. A screen should now popup on your device asking for a passcode. Choose your passcode. After you have entered your passcode, another screen should automatically come up asking you to enter in your passcode again.

First go to settings, general, then passcode lock. Make sure simple passcode is off. Now click turn passcode on. A screen should now popup on your device asking for a password. Choose your password. After you have entered your password, another screen should automatically come up asking you to enter in your password again.

Customizing the lock screen design

You can customize your lock screens design by setting a wallpaper. To do this, go to settings, and then wallpaper. A screen with a picture of your lock screen and home screen should come up. Click it. You can choose images from the images that come with your device or the images you have saved on your device. After you have found one that you want to set as your lock screen wallpaper, click the image, click set, then click set lock screen.

Continue reading »]]> PowerAMP is available in the Android Market. There is both a free and paid version of PowerAMP.

PowerAMP is a music player. I think it is move advanced than the on that comes with Android. I personally prefer PowerAMP over the music player that comes with Android. I like the user interface better on PowerAMP than I do on the default music player that comes with Android. PowerAMP overs some features such as having playlists, setting your songs as your ringtone, and more.

Continue reading »]]> I am going to be teaching you how to create QR codes on Android. My favourite app for creating QR codes on Android is QR Droid.

QR Droid has a variety of features. You can create QR codes. I think you can even scan QR codes with QR Droid. With QR Droid, you can add a URL, text, and more. To create a QR code on QR Droid, simple go to the Share tab, click what you want to share. QR Droid should then generate the QR code.
